Deco Spine Bracelet

Constructed of twenty-four interlocking parts to represent the number of vertebrae in a human spine, the Deco Spine bracelet imitates the arrangement and movement of the backbone within an Art Deco inspired, geometric design.
Traditional and cutting-edge technology fuse together; precise, crisp components carefully constructed to create fluid, natural movement. Along the length of the bracelet, coloured stones graduate in shades of purple, blue and green.
During the Art Deco movement, technology, scientific advancement and the human body were often portrayed within design. The technology of medicine and the human body are pivotal inspirations in Sarah’s design, evoking the movement of the human body in a piece that symbolises life, history and change. Repetition, pattern & movement are integral to the design – as they are in the structure of the human spine.
About her award Sarah said “I'm very honoured to have been picked as one of the emerging designer winners for the Lonmin awards! Having the opportunity to have one of my design creations made in platinum, diamonds and precious stones, would be something I could not do without having the support of Weston Beamor.
It's really surreal seeing one of my fine jewellery design ideas coming to reality and I'm extremely excited to finally see this piece come to 'life' at the hands of our talented goldsmith and setter!”
